Please let me introduce myself.

Thank you for visiting my new Internet site. As a small free-lance up-to-date business, I would very much like the opportunity to tell you a little of what I do and can offer you.

I work as an artist and illustrator, and have fulfilled illustration commissions for publishers such as Lyon, Macmillan, Hodder and Stoughton, Dernier Publishing, Chadwell Publishing, and the Reader's Digest New York.

My private commissions have included landscapes, seascapes, portraits of people such as wedding couples, gardeners, farmers, women and children; and pets have included horses, dogs, cats, and even a hamster. You can see some of these if you would like to visit my other, and previous, website
www.studiomo.co.uk.

The illustration on the left above is from a children's fairy story book.

Two of the illustrations I completed last year was for the covers of a book published at the end of 2011 by Chadwell Publishers. It was called "Shadow of the Titanic" "The story of survivor Eva Hart by Ronald Denney".  The first edition was published some time ago but it has now been added to with more photographs, information, and the new cover design. Eva Hart was only seven years old when she experienced this traumatic event while travelling with her parents. Her father unfortunately, like so many others, did not survive. Her mother did, but at one time was not in the same boat as Eva, and I have endeavoured to capture possibly the idea of this frightened little girl wrapped in a blanket scanning the water for sight of her father. Eva lived in Essex and devoted her adult life to public service and welfare. In 1974 she was honoured with the MBE for her public and political services. I read the book of course before completing the illustrations for the front and back covers, and feel it has been an honour to have been given the challenging commission.

My work is mainly in watercolour, but I also enjoy using watercolour pencil and Atelier Interactive Acrylics as well as pen and ink.  Each commission lending itself to a particular method to achieve the best depiction.

Locally I run my own workshops.  In the past I taught structured courses, but now the group include members that have been with me for many years and we all get together to paint, inspire, and encourage each other.  We welcome anyone wanting to start drawing and painting and the members are always ready to give a helping hand to encourage and advise.  Most of the time I will be there too.

If you would like to know more about my work, or see many samples, please visit my www.studiomo.co.uk site or contact me by email studiomo@live.co.uk.  I would be very pleased to hear from you.

Thank you for visiting my site.
